If only shipping books from Japan wasn't so expensive....

If shipping wouldn't kill me i'd consider it...not all pristine, but since when does that matter to me? particularly for absolutely complete sets from the 70's and early 80's?

I wonder how much they weigh... and how much even surface shipping would cost for just ONE of the auctions *_* If only I lived in Japan...

The Good: I have my two boxes of shiny as the mailman was kind enough to deliver them at 9:30 this morning, before I went to work.

The Bad: The mailman ringing the doorbell at 9:30 this morning is actually what what woke me up. Mind you, I usually LEAVE FOR WORK at 9:30. Apparently I'd set my alarm clock for PM instead of AM

So I have lots and lots and lots of shiny to come home to. (Not that I didn't bring a program or two to peruse while on the subway >_>)

Sometimes I wander what Masamichi's anual budget for bubble wrap is. It never fails to amaze me just how much bubble wrap is used when shipping things to me. I'm not complaining... but when you have a box with 6 videos, 1 program and 1 le cinq, each of them carefully individually cocooned in their protective bubbley barrier.... you start to wonder if this man is the sole person keeping the bubble wrap industry happy O_O

I watched "Rome at Dawn / Les Bijoux Brillants," one of the goodies that the Crescent Shop fairy set down on my doorstep yesterday. The budget saved in costumes and sets on the first part of the show was clearly blown in the revue. Pure, unadulterated, awesomeness - sans the 3 scenes placed after the credits that had their audio replaced due to copyright issues. I really would have loved to hear everyone singing "Happy Together."

I seem to notice this copyright issue popping up more and more lately. It could be simply because I didn't notice it on other shows - or it could be that it's becoming more prevalent. It also popped up in "Albatross, Minami e," and I presuming that it's the same for the Rockette and Otokoyaku dance for "Phantom," since those silent after the credits.

On a different note... part of me is sad and wished that the 2006 Tsukigumi Encourage Concert were actually released on cd/video/dvd/anythingthaticouldhearmaggyin >_> Alas, I can only sigh and dream... (not that I would mind the sora concert either)

Hmmmmm.... not liking the new LJ update page all that much. The sheer amount of white on my 1280x1024 screen is almost blinding...

Anyways! The Crescent Shop fairy paid me a visit yesterday and I have new goodies which I hope to eventually share (which reminds me that I STILL have to find that serial cord to hook up the trusty old scanner...).

I do have a question for any friends who happen to do screen caping and video capping from VHS tapes.

How do you suggest is the best way to go about capturing or encoding videos? I know there are a bunch of different methods, but I figured it best to check with the experts ^_^
