I was sitting here, thinking about the upcoming Hanagumi shows...when something dawned on me.

Fuji Kyouko will be in Oguri, her first proper show in almost 6 years. (I believe that wao_wao had pointed out this long break between shows already)

I'm guessing that she'll be turning 60 this year....

It's most likely that the only reason she's actually showing up in this show is in order to properly retire :/

Completely random, but....

After watching Taiou Shijinki for the first time, I said to wao_wao that it felt as though Yuuhi was treated BETTER than nibante in the otokoyaku dance number.

I just looked at the program and realized something

Finale D - Genbu ~ Fighters
Genbu (man) SS: Matobu Sei
Genbu (man) S: Oozora Yuuhi
Genbu (men) A: Sou Kazuho, Aine Harei, Misuzu Aki

Okay.... so when do they ever have an "SS man" ????? It's usually always S (top star) and A (usually support stars in the scene or nibante)

Interesting X_X

(Although, I have to admit that the scene being called "Genbu" explains the hexagonical pattern of the reflecive parts on their costumes in this scene)

So, today in short

* Fell asleep early last night by accident and woke up RIDICULOUSLY early. 4:30 am early. Spoke to kirakira_sora for a little while before going back to sleep for another hour or so.
* I have the stupid cold sore of DOOM. I hate getting cold sores. I usually only get them if Ive been sick or was sunburned and rarely even then.... and Id been sick all this week. It's going away quickly, but not quickly enough -_- It always makes me feel way too self-conscious
* Met princesslucia for the first time <3 <3 <3 Thank you for the wonderful day!! And thank you SOOOOO SO SO SO much for bringing my makeup for me. Such a better day than being at work.
* Watched Taiou Shijinki again. I really wish I could see it again, but I really can't afford it. I would have loved to see it with Lindsey and Jojo ;_; I definitely liked it more the second time around. The show ran a LOT smoother, too. The show I saw before was the first show on the day after shonichi - so the second performance ever of the show and it still had it's rough patches.
* Kept noticing Wataru Hibiki in the show without knowing who she was. It seems as though I go for the tall ones, even unconciously. Should I try writing to her?
* Two little goof ups that I noticed: during the melee, one of the poor young otokoyaku snapped her spear in two by accident when she fell ^^; The other is that the phoenix "wings" on the platform thing during the finale seem to be broken?
* Told myself that I would clean the shower - which desperately needs it - when I got home. But we see how well THAT'S going. ^^;;;;
* I think I've lost a good bit of weight, at least in my arms, because this shirt used to be a little snugger in the arms... and now the sleeves are kinda loose X_X It's bizarre. Maybe if I starve myself, I can actually fit into clothes besides Uniqlo XL shirts that are kinda snug and stuff from Daiei's ゆったり section. Not that it matters because my limbs seem to be too long and the sleeves of everything I try on feel more like 3/4 length sleeves X_X

So it seems as though Sumika is being paired with Sou for Oguri <3

I have to applaud Hankyuu on their choices of Dinner Show / Concert photos on the Events page this year. (particularly Sena's. That picture is just screaming to be made into an icon *_* maybe when I feel like taking another work break...)

I hope that she's alright. I actually enjoyed her (and her oh-so-fun hair XD) in Tsuki's "Youngbloods." *huggles Tsuki babies*

Can anyone with the Japanese Takarazuka know-how tell me what this location translates to?

地方公演

I'm working on Shizuki Asato's page on the takawiki, posting all of the performances that she's been in ( with many thanks to my copy of Takarazuka Dreaming 2 that lists all of her performances and roles through 1999). I'm stuck on one thing. In September of 1991, Zunko was in The Rose of Versailles - Fersen Hen. The location is listed as "地方公演 ," The closest to which I can translate with my rudimentary Japanese is "District Koen" or "District Performance." Does anyone know where or what this might be? I'm not sure what venue this might be.

The performance isn't listed on the Takawiki for 1991... but I'm assuming that it's somehow connected to the Hanagumi performance of the same show in 1990.

If anyone can help out, I'd be most grateful!

*edits* I just found the same thing on a performance from September-October 1989 Called "Haru futatabi / The Revues Cup '89"

If I were more ambitious, I would consider making a seperate LJ just for my Takarazuka ramblings so as to preserve the sanity of my friends list. However, as it is, I'm rather sporadic in updating this LJ, so how well would I be able to keep up with a personal journal AND a Takarazuka journal?

I suppose that I'll continue subjecting my poor innocent non-'zuka friends to my obscure and obsessive hobby.

I still have a pair of Hanagumi Elisabeth videos to upload to YouTube. One of the clips I want to splice down some of the extra bits from the beginning and the end. I could just post up the other, but being obsessive, I tend to put as much info in the video description as I can - So I guess I'll put it off until tomorrow... again.

I'm getting a bit braver in editing entries on the Takarazuka Wikipedia. I always seem to have this bizarre complex that I'm not knowledgeable enough, or that I'm going to screw things up, or that what I'm posting isn't good enough.

I was finally spurred to edit the Hanagumi Elisabeth page simply because it seemed so.... bare.. without half the cast listed. For a version that so many people love and appreciate, it seemed to be missing so many important cast members. I just wanted to give the 'ziennes their due - and fans an easy reference. Plus some lesser-known 'ziennes (mostly the black angels) now have the performance on their pages.

Maybe I'll get around to muddling through the names of some other older shows and adding new pages to the taka wiki, once I figure out how to make new pages. That'll take another step of courage. I don't know how princesslucia is able to be the taka wiki goddess that she is. *edits* How could I forget wao_wao as well!

On another 'zuka note, we keep seeing commercials for Best Buy. Their tagline this season is "Wrap up the Wow." Of course, in mine and midoriseppen's twisted minds, we automatically turn that into "Wrap up the Wao." I'll just leave it at that... Oh how I love having a roommate to suck into my obsessions.

My evening well spent

Well, there's the main cast. I'll go through and add more tomorrow probably. Plus I need to go through and add the Elisabeth roles to a number of the individual actress pages. I suppose I haven't done THAT bad for having a very rudimentary grasp of Japanese and far from expert knowledge of Takarazuka theater. I wish I had midoriseppen's mad Japanese skills. I am getting faster at reading, however! And am recognizing a few more kanji!

Was a lot more fulfilling than the Eagles game, by far.

I'm also slooooowly uploading a pair of clips to YouTube. I'm too tired to finish the info for their entries tonight...
