This is kinda what spawned the .... comment insanity.... last night.

After discovering a few weeks ago that we lived so close to each other, these plans are what subsequently enused. Behold, our cosplay group for Otakon this coming July.

I'm not usually very picky when it comes to friending people on LJ. Generally, if you friend me and are a decent person, I'll friend you back. You don't have to comment all the time, or be swimming ALA Scrooge McDuck in a vault full of shiny. All I ask is that you're a decent and civil person. I've made some wonderful friends among you this way, and have been happy to come across such a warm and inviting group of people as you all are.

But I'm running into something lately - particularly in the past several weeks - that's kinda been bothering me a bit, and I feel a bit strange bringing it up.

Please don't take this the wrong way, and I feel as though I'm a horrible whiney bitch for even mentioning this.

I've been getting random friends requests from people who have never made a comment (here on this LJ or on any other LJ's I seem to visit). I check their LJ accounts and they've never posted anything. They've never even filled out any user info or interests. They simply... friend me....and leave it at that, I assume under the assumption that I will simply add them in return. Often it seems as though these accounts were made within the last few weeks before the attempted request.

Now I ask you, how does this look from my perspective?

I enjoy sharing scans with my friends list. I enjoy sharing clips with my friends list. But I'd rather not become the place where a leech comes just to...well... leech.

You don't have to post often or comment anywhere often, but please at least take the time and put in the effort to do more than sign up for an account and assume that I'll open my entire collection to you.

Yes, more Zuka-ing, since I still haven't figured out what I want to name my Zuka LJ (Any suggestions?)

I'm goin to try to hook up my old scanner later so that I can share a few pictures.... and give a few performance pages pictures that I know I have things from in my collection. (Like this one).
