It's been a long time since I've posted a TakaWiki related question to you here, but I figured it more likely to be seen here than on the actual TakaWiki forums ..... and it was better to ask before doing backlinking for Kaze no Nishiki-e / Zorro

I am curious about the translated title for Kaze no Nishiki-e. Is there any particular reason why we went with "Brocade Picures of the Wind" for it? I know that "Nishiki" means brocade... but I've never heard anyone refer to nishiki-e as "brocade pictures." In fact, I think I've only heard nishiki-e referred to as "nishiki-e." Even the English wikipedia entry is written as "nishiki-e." Should we just translate the title as "Nishiki-e of the Wind" or something similar?

In non-wiki related news, the preview image for Kanashimi no Cordoba is up.

Retirements are up for Yukigumi:
Yurika Shiho, Tani Mizuse and Hozuki Haruna

Ducky and Taniyan, I actually know...

With Taniyan and Hozuki Haruna's departures, the 86th class dwindles yet a little more. After Kaname transfers and these two graduate, there will be only three 86ths remaining in yukigumi.

*edits*
So, it seems as though Suzune Ryou will miss both runs of the yukigumi show due to poor health.

Kotoshiro Manaka, aka Magee's hoshigumi musumeyaku clone, will be out YET AGAIN. This poor girl. I have to wonder what is up with her because this is how many shows now.... Though she is noted to be out only for the Takarazuka run... ;_;

So, people! I'd love to have your help.

This coming Saturday is Magee's ochakai in Tokyo. I'll be going all on my lonesome ;_; (I actually got the usual email from the club today saying that they were looking for more people to go to the ochakai and to invite our friends..... but this one was addressed just to me and asked if I didn't have anyone else to go since I was coming by myself ^^;;;;;)

What I need help with:

At ochakai, there is almost always a Q&A corner where you submit questions before the ochakai begins and the MC asks them of the start later on

I can never think of questions to ask, and even if I did, I wouldn't be able to express it in Japanese good enough that I wouldn't embarrass me to hand it in.

So! What questions would you like to ask, if you had the chance! (And now you DO have the chance, via me!)

a) About Yume no Ukihashi / Apasionado!!

b) Off Stage

c) Other (sometimes they have random things.)

Also, assuming you collectively come up with a good idea, could someone be kind enough to give it to me in decent Japanese? Or feel free to offer up a question in Japanese! OR whatever!

ALSO!!!
If there is anyone who will be in Tokyo who wants to go to Seijou Kaito's ochakai, the offer is still open!! <3 (Saturday, Jan 17th. Grand Arc Hotel Hanzomon, Doors open 6:30, begins at 7:30)

Somehow, I hadn't realized how quickly the time has passed. The email from Magee no Kai asking for volunteers for the guard on the last day of Adieu Marseilles's daigekijou run (And thus, Osa's final daigekijou performance) has managed to secure this in my head. Is it REALLY the end of October?

Please say it's not permanently sold out....as in out of print ;_;

Not that I was going to buy it right away as I don't have the money to spare at the moment ... but... I need it for my "Every commercial release with Magee and Zunko Collection"!

(Plus I've really been wanting to see it anyways)

I've been waiting to see how the casts would be divvied up for forever and of course it comes out the night I decide not to stay up late.

MaggieMagee in Hoffmann. Part of me is amused, realizing that she's the 3rd most senior tsukigumisei in the show. *sniffles* My baby's all grown up *tear* Part of me hopes for Nicklaus - which will most likely never happen :P.

I'm guessing it'll be a switched-role show, with the other getting the second role. Part of me hopes for Maggie as the Demon, because dear GOD Does she play evil so deliciously well. Why is it that one of the few Stage Albums I'm missing is the one for 1978? Else I could read the show's full description!

Oh! And all of the rest of the class! Tocchan, Sachiko, Magu, Mizuki <3. Nene is even slowly starting to grow on me - though I still wish they would have started pushing Remi over her.

The one thing I AM sad about is that it'll most likely not be on DVD... and thus I won't be able to see it ;_; Why can't I just live in Japan so I can fangirl properly?!

Half of me wishes she were in Arex....because that cast. OH that cast! Some of my favorite underclassmen! Heck, some of my favorite tsukigumisei in general <3!

Look at me. I've been so busy squeeing that I have 10 minutes to get ready for work ^^;

On Maggie/Magii/or whatever you want to call her <3

I've managed to muddle through with my bit of Japanese knowledge to translate this article. You can find it below the cut.

Her Soul Dances in Her First Sword Battle, First Villain's Role / Seijou Kaito )

I warn you to take any of my translations with a grain of salt. I'm usually pretty good at figuring things out, but there is always the possibility that there will be some errors. If you see anything wrong, feel free to let me know. <3

Pondering....

[info]sumire_no_hana
This isn't the first time I've suspected this....

but....

I'm not quite sure, anymore, that Maggie is actually Maggie (or Maggy). I dont even know WHAT to think. If only katakana couldn't be interpreted so many diferent ways.

A couple times I've seen マギー romanized "Magee." A kind girl on Mixi messaged me and is part of her fan club. According to her, the fan club is called "Magee's Angels".

The more I look at her signature (see the present at the bottom of this page, for example)the more I keep seeing "Magee." (Oh, how I wished I lived in Japan so that I could try to win her signature <3)

I recall come across her actual birth year and real name on one of those sites by accident.... and thus is when my suspicions began. The other name listed with "マギー" ended in "-ko." It half made me wonder why would someone have what seemed like two first names?

So "マギー" may actually be her last name....Magee....hmmm I wonder if her father is Irish-American XD It really makes a lot of sense with the elongated "gii." Imagine, for those who don't speak Japanese, an emphasis on the "gii" part of the name. Please tell me I'm not going crazy? Not that it much matters in the end, but now I'm even more curious.

One of these days I'll see if I can join her fan club somehow. Hell, I've been too nervous to even write her a fan letter! Don't ask my why I'm so nervous to send a simple piece of paper with words on it to my favorite 'sienne. I've been trying to work up to it for the better part of a year now! I know it's completely foolish, considering she may not even actually read them and receives many of the same every day, but I can't seem to force myself to overcome my nervous shyness.

Oh well, I'm headed back to translating the fun Nikkan sports article <3 I'll post it here when I'm done, but be warned that for the most part my translations are rather attrocious. I handle general meanings much better than direct translations (what do you expect, having very little formal Japanese training).

Ah, taking a vacation day to extend my holiday weekend to 4 days is quite nice. Perhaps today I 'll take a trip to Chinatown to go grocery shopping (I have the craving for donburi and I'm pretty sure we need more dashi and soy sauce. I think we're fine on the mirin). Or maybe I'll take a trip to the thai/vietnamese grocery store on Washington so I can make some lemongrass soup... or some red or green curry... hmmmm....

ANYWAYS

BeruBaraKids never fails to come through.

Osaka Samurai.

Maggie.

Love.

That is all.

Dal Lake no Koi

Makes me want the DVD even more. So gorgeous!

I'm thinking of what little I've seen of the 1997 Hoshigumi version. My mind keeps placing this cast with these outfits into it. August and September are going to be very very expensive months, I see...

The one question I have though - for those of you who have seen the hoshigumi version. The scene with Saeko in drag in the charmante outfit..... "Welcome to Paris" or something to that effect. I have to wonder who will Asumi Rio be performing that part as well? I'm fairly sure that Mirio <3 is playing the same role that Saeko did .... but will it be Mirio in drag in the charmante scene as well?

Somehow having a ken-4 in drag, even for a scene or two, just doesn't seem the same. XD Well, she was in drag for a bit in Les Bijoux...

It seems like such a large role for a ken-4. (Saeko would have been, what, a ken-7? ) But it IS a national tour, where the 1997 version was a grand theater show. That could explain the babies playing larger roles. Mirio also DID have significant stage time in PariSora....

Maggie....Musumeyaku...EVERYONE must be given fedoras more often.

Music - So much wonderful jazz! And in such quantities. However, they managed to put in such an amazingly eclectic mix of music aside from the jazz, and yet somehow make it all mesh together. I've seen some revues where they put eclectic mixes together and you'd never realize they were the same revue. Not in this case...

I wish that the Queen and Led Zeppelin songs had been left in the Sherezade scene, but strangely I somehow actually liked the instrumental filler music they overlayed instead... It was also nice that they kept the scenes actually in the DVD performance order, unlike Les Bijoux, where you had to access them through the scene menu.

Dancing - The choreography *_* the wonderful ensemble numbers. Dancing without music guidance at times. The Petrushka scene, which I can't even imagine how absolutely amazing that had to look in person.

And finally, I don't think I've EVER been so excited over a Finale parade as I was for this one. I'll give you 3 guesses as to why, but if you have to use them, you obviously mustn't know me well enough ^_~

Just curious....

In working on filling in missing profiles on the TakaWiki, I've discovered an interesting fact:

Members of the 86th class also performed in the revue half of Hoshigumi's Golden Pharaoh / Miracats Takarazuka run. (This was the Grand Theater show immediately following their hatsubutai show). All of the members played some variety of cats - Crazy cats, Paris cats, and of course, Miracats.

I knew that Maggie was in "Miracats," even though it was a Hoshigumi show and she's always been in Tsuki. (I'd also always wondered why someone had mistakenly added hoshigumi to Maggie's list of troupes).

Is this a common occurance? A special occurance? If so, any clue what might have prompted them to use the newly-debuted babies? Or am I just missing out on something?

(Yeah, I know I should get back to working on my Video/DVD List of DOOM, but I figured I'd take a break and work on other things)

Hmmm... methinks I need to get a copy of the newest "Top Stage," somehow. Anyone know where I might be able to obtain a copy - or should I just go through amazon.co.jp....

Sharing and Shinies!

Shinies in the mail today! Oh the baby love! Sora babies! Tsuki babies! <3 <3 <3 I completely forgot how hungry I was and how I'd planned on making dinner when I came in the door. Zuka babies take precedence over sustenance.

Tsukigumi Encourage Concert

Pure

Love <3

Perhaps I'll give a more in-depth review of it once I have the chance to watch it again - perhaps sans all of the fangirly squeals and drooling. I do believe I've found a Tsuki Musumeyaku or two to adopt, though <3!

If it wasn't nearly midnight, I'd start watching Understudy... I've been eager to watch it since [info]wao_wao posted her caps and review of it a while back. Sora babies? Check! Adorable cuteness? Check! I do believe I have my entertainment for tomorrow night!

I think this post needs a spinning Maggie icon, just because!

Forget my last post - Maggie IS in Kiriyan's bow show

Maggie Contemplations...

So, the cast - if not the actual roles being played - has been published for "Dal Lake no Koi" - (Cast listing can be found here).

The first thing that struck me: No Maggie ;_;

The second thing that struck me: Let me check the show schedule to see what else is happening during "Dal Lake"

Which made me realize that Kiriyan's Bow Hall show, "Osaka Samurai," is being performed at the same exact time..... *_*

Which means that there is the possibility that Maggie is in Kiriyan's Bow show *_* All I can hope, now, is that if she is, it is released on DVD some time down the road....

After having been introduced to Mixi, and joining a few communities (Maggie's being the first one I joined ^_^), I've come to the conclusion that it is all that MySpace tries to be, yet fails miserably at.

God, what's wrong with me. I'm actually being quasi-social online! Next thing you know, I'll be getting a life!

Alright, maybe not...

Copyright makes us sad...
Magee - Young Star
[info]sumire_no_hana
I watched "Rome at Dawn / Les Bijoux Brillants," one of the goodies that the Crescent Shop fairy set down on my doorstep yesterday. The budget saved in costumes and sets on the first part of the show was clearly blown in the revue. Pure, unadulterated, awesomeness - sans the 3 scenes placed after the credits that had their audio replaced due to copyright issues. I really would have loved to hear everyone singing "Happy Together."

I seem to notice this copyright issue popping up more and more lately. It could be simply because I didn't notice it on other shows - or it could be that it's becoming more prevalent. It also popped up in "Albatross, Minami e," and I presuming that it's the same for the Rockette and Otokoyaku dance for "Phantom," since those silent after the credits.

On a different note... part of me is sad and wished that the 2006 Tsukigumi Encourage Concert were actually released on cd/video/dvd/anythingthaticouldhearmaggyin >_> Alas, I can only sigh and dream... (not that I would mind the sora concert either)
