Faced with a choice between a 12,000 yen S-seki ticket in the last rows of the first floor of Umegei.... and the DVD...

I found myself coming home from my trip to the Mura today for Karaoke with arlecchinic, wao_wao and cutelatingirl with an unexpected purple bag....

Yesterday, during princesslucia, wao_wao and my own exploits in Taka-san, I came out with a Shizuki Asato memo set from the free bin.

I didn't read the Engrishy goodness on the back of the packaging until I was on my train ride home and I now feel obligated to share. (Spelling mistakes are not my own. I'm transcribing exactly as it's written).

Odd things that I'm grateful for today...

That I have the cramps of DOOM today rather than yesterday when I was seeing a show and meet our resident princess. One of the gazillion times I saw Yume, I was trying not to double over in pain or squirm to much. It wasn't a fun show x_X

I was confused by the "映像出演" part, initiallly. After reading this I think, and I could be mistaken, that she's been recorded for the part, but for a few special performances, she'll actually be there live?

Apple, I'm bitter with you. I've barely had my ipod for a few months and already the earbuds are pretty much broken (the wires are pulling out of the right earbud). I give you enough money, you would think you could make something that'll last longer than 2 or 3 months -_-

It seems like the Mugen Houjushou/This is Takarazuka show is stalking me. I searched youtube this morning, and found that Someone has posted the finale. I don't think I've ever mentioned how much I love their finale outfits. Probably one of my favorites of the finale parades I've seen.

Yeah, I haven't really updated lately. There's no other excuse, really, other than being busy with work. I got my latest batch of 'Zuka goodies in the mail, over which I squee (Including Zunko's "Nocturne" dinner show *_* - I'll probably make a takawiki page for it this week sometime), but that's pretty much it.

I'm halfway done with the scene descriptions for Mugen Houjushou. I'll put them up sometime this week. I also have to scan the book I have to put up a picture for the performance page.

For now, for a bit of a change of pace, I've started going backwards through debut years and begun making pages for 'Ziennes who don't have profiles yet. (Strangely enough, it appears that wao_wao was doing the same, as there were a few people on the 2003 page without profiles last night when I went tobed, yet the page was finished this afternoon - I swore I was going crazy at first!). Finished up 2002... now onto 2001!

Nothing much else to add, other than acting as the human thesaurus for midoriseppen as she does her "Akatsuki no Roma" song translations (Since the Le Cinq for the show was in my latest shipment of goodies, and includes the script).

Our respective troupes? Check (I'm Sora, she's Yuki)
Glasses that match our respective troupes? Check (I'm the purple one, she's the green one)
"Beverages" to fill said glasses? Check

Our drinks of choice this evening are appropriately named "Passion and Pain." One half Wild Passion Alize. One half Champagne. One completely apropos title for a Takarazuka marathon.

And as if "Madame Wolf's Collection" wasn't already dirty enough a song....

Italian names do not translate into Japanese very well.

Muddling through the katakana, trying to figure out what the heck the name could be in Italian, throw out the occasional French name just to throw a wrench in the works.... I don't think I realized what I was getting into when I started this show! It doesn't help when the cast list is a mile long as well. The only saving grace is that the show is based on historical fact/fiction, so I had a bit of help in figuring out the proper spellings of the names.

I still have some more work to do on the page, but that was a full Sunday worth of work for me. I was working on "Prestige," The revue half of the show, when I finally gave up a little after 2 am - not because I needed to be up for work this morning, but because it was getting so cold out that it was fridgid at my computer (which sits next to a window). Tonight I'll most likely finish it up , along with the back linking.

There are were so many great young stars in this show... Mizu, Tani, Yuuhi and even Sararan, in her first show after her debut, in the kick line and in the background (Why did you retire so early!? ;_;)! This isn't even including the amazing cast of more established 'Ziennes.

It appears I really have a thing for pre-Soragumi Tsukigumi. Considering the number of members of Tsuki that transferred into Sora at it's inception (Zunko included), I suppose that it's not that surprising.

I think I've finally decided to make a Zuka only LJ. I have to figure out what I'm going to name it though, but once I do, I'll be sure to let you all know! Once I get paid, I'll probably make it a paid account so I can keep my million and one LJ icons on there, as well as customize my layout.

If anything, I'm getting a LOT quicker at reading Katakana, and am learning more and more Kanji from this.

Oh, Zunko. You are worth staying up until 3am as I slave away on your page. (yes, I work slow.) And yet I'm still not done. I've added all of the performances you've been in, but not the names of your normal roles and only three of your shinjinkoen roles.

I would have loved to see you as Rhett Butler in Tsuki's 1994 shinjinkoen performance of Gone with the Wind. Maybe I'll work on the performance page for that once I'm finished with your profile.

And yes, I love your ears, too, just because I know midoriseppen is going to say something along the lines of "car with the doors open" in response to this post. I think they're cute ^_^;; At least she has a normal length neck, unlike Komu ^_^


You know.... I'm thinking even more and more that making a zuka-only LJ is goign to be a good idea.

Can anyone with the Japanese Takarazuka know-how tell me what this location translates to?

地方公演

I'm working on Shizuki Asato's page on the takawiki, posting all of the performances that she's been in ( with many thanks to my copy of Takarazuka Dreaming 2 that lists all of her performances and roles through 1999). I'm stuck on one thing. In September of 1991, Zunko was in The Rose of Versailles - Fersen Hen. The location is listed as "地方公演 ," The closest to which I can translate with my rudimentary Japanese is "District Koen" or "District Performance." Does anyone know where or what this might be? I'm not sure what venue this might be.

The performance isn't listed on the Takawiki for 1991... but I'm assuming that it's somehow connected to the Hanagumi performance of the same show in 1990.

If anyone can help out, I'd be most grateful!

*edits* I just found the same thing on a performance from September-October 1989 Called "Haru futatabi / The Revues Cup '89"
